Single-membrane and seamless, with a typical lifespan of 20 years or more. Best suited to larger, simpler roofs where there are few obstructions to detail around.
Rigid and fully bonded, ideal for roofs with foot traffic. It takes trims, upstands and awkward detailing neatly, so it suits balconies and dormers well.
Mineral felt was never designed for the amount of wet, dry and freeze cycling a British winter puts it through. Water sits on the surface, works into the laps, freezes, and lifts the layers apart. Add summer UV, which dries the bitumen out until it cracks, and a felt roof that looked sound five years ago starts leaking with no warning.
EPDM and GRP behave differently. Both are single, continuous surfaces with no laps to fail, they stay flexible through temperature swings, and they are unaffected by standing water. That is the difference between a roof you patch every few winters and one you can stop thinking about.

Most domestic flat roofs, garage, extension or dormer, are completed in one to two days depending on size and weather.
Both are durable. EPDM tends to suit larger, simpler roofs while GRP works well where there is foot traffic or complex detailing. We will recommend based on your roof during the free inspection.
A little. Clearing debris and checking outlets and drains once or twice a year keeps a modern flat roof performing for decades.
